Beyonce and Jay-Z’s ‘Apeshit’ is having it’s own visitor-centric tour at the Louvre

Now the parisian museum, the Louvre is having a full ninety minute guided tour based on the now infamous music video of Beyonce and Jay-Z’s ‘Apeshit’ (dropped on June 16th) , that can only be described as both bodily and sculptural. Fresh off the wave from The Met’s Heavenly Bodies series, the theme of bringing this sort of classical reinterpretation of fine art works that both modernizes and glorifies it, is in trend. We could talk further about how as a predominantly white art world, how imagery and music like this is both liberating and beautiful in it’s juxtaxpositions but that is best saved for another day.

The tour will cover all 17 pieces of art featured in the video; including works like The Coronation of Napoleon, The Winged Victory of Samothrace, The Louvre Pyramid and of course, The Mona Lisa herself to name just a few.

Stevie Ku'shon

Stevie grew up in the cusp between the VCR and DVD era and can't afford Netflix either. Reportedly the first ever person to transition from Beta female, to Alpha female, to Beta again successfully without any complications - she also has a degree paper, that paper being white - And 11 out of 10 people agree that she never tells any lies, especially in writing. With a background in fine arts, particularly an affinity for performance/ installation art that touch on breaking boundaries and social norms, she has a lil sum-sumthin to say about it all
